About the Role

As our Nursing Assistant (NA), you will perform essential direct patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, often while actively pursuing your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. This role supports the nursing unit's operational needs and provides a pathway to advance your healthcare career.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including bathing, oral care, feeding, ambulation, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Transport patients to and from nursing units and ancillary departments safely and comfortably.
  • Assist, under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider, with lifting, turning, and transporting patients.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean patient care environment, including restocking supplies/linens, emptying trash/linen, and preparing rooms for EVS activity.
  • Clean and stock department equipment and assist with related maintenance.
  • Perform clerical work and light office tasks, such as packaging patient education materials, assembling FIT tests, providing data entry support, and assisting with projects.
  • Support inpatient floors by sitting at a patient’s bedside for general visitation and non-clinical assistance, transporting urgent specimens, serving as a unit access screener, and conducting hand hygiene audits.

Requirements

  • Any combination of experience and education demonstrating requisite job knowledge and/or abilities, including an interest in a potential career in healthcare.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant training program (6 months minimum).
  • Must obtain Nursing Assistant Registration once enrolled in an accredited program.
