Nursing Assistant - Neuro Reg Care 8T; 0.3 FTE; Night shifts

About the role

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) practices and performs basic nursing assistant procedures taught during outside training and certification. The CNA is expected to practice medical asepsis, respect patient dignity and privacy, maintain objectivity during patient care, adhere to hospital safety policies, and practice within their scope of training. The CNA works under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse and receives specific written and oral work assignments to complete within their scheduled shift.

Unit description

This position is on a 45-bed Neuro/Med-Surgical unit. The staff utilize a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team approach to provide high-quality, compassionate care to complex neurological, medical, and surgical patients, which can include but is not limited to acute stroke, chronic neurological illnesses, neurosurgery, and general medical and surgical patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing assistant procedures as taught in training and certification program
• Practice medical asepsis
• Respect the dignity and privacy of every patient
• Maintain objectivity during patient care
• Adhere to basic hospital safety policies and procedures
• Work within scope of training under close supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Complete written and oral work assignments within scheduled shift

Required qualifications

• State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Currently CPR certified or eligible for certification
• Must be available the first week of employment from 8AM – 4:30PM for CNA orientation

Schedule

• 0.3 FTE
• Overnight shifts
• 8 and 12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• 12 hours per week
