Nursing Assistant - Med/Surg Medical - 12hr Shifts

About the role

Fairview is seeking a Nursing Assistant at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This position is 60 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, for 12 hour shifts, and every third weekend. Eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more.

Job Expectations

• Assists the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care
• Transports patient and/or equipment
• Sets up and maintains patient rooms
• Reorders and stocks supplies
• Provides basic patient care including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, position/ambulating, changing linens, answering call lights, monitoring patient condition, taking vital signs, placing patient on/off monitors, reporting unusual findings, assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharge, orienting patients and families, ensuring belongings are accounted for, documenting tasks, and performing other tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program
• Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting
• Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
• Or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire

Compensation

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
