Nursing Assistant - Days/Evenings - Advanced Acute Care Trauma Unit (No CNA Cert Required)
Job Summary
Geisinger offers a Nursing Assistant a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, along with a minimum hiring rate of $16.25 and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Additionally, there is up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates strong ability to meet both orientation and long-term full-time scheduling requirements.
- Showcases reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance.
- Displays excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Identifies, observes, and documents the physical needs of the patient.
- Reports any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel promptly.
- Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Provides for or assists patients with activities of daily living.
- Accurately processes specimens and provides timely transport to the laboratory.
- Performs point of care patient testing and instrument maintenance and quality control.
- Assists in problem-solving and maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students.
- Transcribes and processes orders, coordinates transportation, and assists with ordering supplies.
- Communicates with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets.
- Operates and troubleshoots clerical equipment.
- Supports transportation of non-controlled medications and blood products.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), at least 1 year of related work experience, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) and Basic Life Support Certification.

Position Details
- Full Time, Days/Evenings Position (36 Hours/weekly)
- 3 - 12 hour shifts
