About the role
Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients as a Nursing Assistant on 5 South – Med/Surg – Full Time – Evening shift at NewYork-Presbyterian. Certified nursing assistants serve as critical points of contact for patients and families, partnering with nurses and care teams to deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Ensure timely delivery of meals and safe patient transport
- Provide comfort and caring under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy patient environment
- Collaborate with the care team to improve the patient experience
Schedule
Full time evening position covering 3:00 pm – 11:15 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
Preferred Criteria
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Criteria
- One year in an acute care setting preferred
- Certified long term care Nursing Assistant
- Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association (BLS)
- Previous nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aide training program
- Or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum

Pay
Salary Range: $28.18/Hour
