About the role

The Nursing Administrator is a senior-level nurse position reporting to the Chief Medical Officer. This role supports the agency with development and oversight of clinical policies and programs, ensures compliance with clinically related federal, state, or other regulations, and represents the division on statewide task forces and committees in support of the DMMA mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
  • Develops, implements, and/or reviews nursing care plans.
  • Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and/or nursing home facilities in managing their health care needs.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with other members of the treatment team.
  • Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations, and forms.
  • Participates in and makes recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, or a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
  • Knowledge of budget development, including analyzing financial data and making long- and short-range plans and projections.
  • Knowledge of developing policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through coursework, academic training, employer-provided training, or experience as a lead worker overseeing others; or supervising staff, including planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work; or supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
