About the role
As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee a team of nurses in a specific unit within Heritage Community of Kalamazoo. You will be responsible for ensuring that all nursing practices are in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure patient care quality and safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Ensure staff development and professional growth through ongoing education and training.
- Manage staff schedules and resources to meet operational needs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
- Participate in facility-wide initiatives and committees to improve patient care and organizational goals.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- A current RN license in Michigan.
- At least five years of progressive nursing management experience.
- Experience in managing a team of nurses in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and mentor staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
