Big Rapids Emergency Department is a community-based hospital within the Corewell Healthcare System. The Big Rapids ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center, featuring 20 treatment spaces for minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. About the Role
As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, you will provide top-notch patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. This direct patient care role involves performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating observations to the healthcare team. You will play a vital role in delivering relationship-based care to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Taking vitals and checking blood sugar
- Wound care
- Bed bathing and toileting assistance
- Ambulating patients
- Catheterization
- Acting as a safety attendant for patients as needed
- Postmortem care
- Performing EKGs
- Changing and sanitizing patient rooms
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- Experience in direct patient care is preferred
