About the role

The Nurse Supervisor (NS) is part of a dynamic care team within the Office of Population Health (OPH) at UCSF Health. This position is a mission-driven nurse leader that will bring a leadership presence, sound judgment, and a commitment to operational excellence in advancing innovative models of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across assigned programs, ensuring that the flow of patient care activities for all assigned areas and coordination of the nursing teams who are part of the larger multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead program development and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance around patient care.
  • Partner with the Assistant Clinical Director and other OPH leadership to address operational challenges and implement improvements.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and motivating teams.
  • May be a primary or delegate for other UCSF Health meetings, collaboratives, and will also partner with community organizations to ensure that all external resources are used for patient referrals.

Qualifications

  • Requires 1 year or more of Lead/Charge/Supervisory/Manager experience in a hospital, clinic, or care management-based setting.
  • Should have at least 5 years working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in areas such as ambulatory, inpatient, public health or a Care Management setting.
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s).
  • In depth knowledge of patient care Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, consultants, and outside agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, and to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Salary Information

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
