Location: Henderson County Health Department, Lexington, TN. This position requires a criminal background check.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a nursing clinical specialty area with preparation in specialized practitioner skills, or a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in Tennessee.
  • Current or eligible for national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area (required within 60 days of employment).
  • Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing (required within 60 days of employment).
  • Valid driver’s license with no DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations in the past five years.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient health status, efficacy of care, and response to treatments to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment strategies for patients with complex diagnoses.
  • Prescribe medication dosages and frequencies, detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, and perform basic life support and CPR.
  • Provide psychosocial counseling, preventative health care, and patient-centered care.
  • Analyze physical examinations, laboratory reports, and diagnostic testing results.
  • Review patient history, order diagnostic tests, and determine reasons for hospitalization or chief complaints.
  • Safeguard medical records in compliance with agency directives and state/federal laws.
  • Audit patient charts for protocol adherence, standards of care, and compliance with accrediting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with consulting physicians on patient care plans.
  • Participate in staff orientation, deliver health-related training, and precept students in medical, nursing, pharmacy, or nurse practitioner programs.
  • Lead patient treatment teams to coordinate care as needed.

Pay

Monthly: $7,458.00 – $9,697.00
Annual: $89,496.00 – $116,364.00
