Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Part-time)

About the role

The role is a part-time position (8 hours weekly) in an employer-based clinic in Ottumwa, IA, focusing on occupational health and acute/episodic care. This is a day shift position, Monday and Thursday, 7 AM - 11 AM CST.

Responsibilities

• Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards
• Build and maintain internal team relationships
• Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices
• Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinical issues
• Support client’s wellness and preventative programs
• Document and manage information using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
• Patient education regarding medical conditions and treatment options
• Patient coaching regarding healthy behaviors

Requirements

• A valid unrestricted Iowa license
• Current DEA & BLS certifications
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software
• A positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – with patients, clients and colleagues
• Willingness to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service
• Comfortable working in an on-site clinic environment

Qualifications

• Experience in occupational health is a plus
• Previous work-site clinic experience is a plus
