Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Pain Management

About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative team at Ochsner Health. This role works under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician, providing care to outpatient clinic patients. Responsibilities include primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization, teaching, staff development, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes approved medical practices process in delivering all patient care
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population
• Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree in Nursing, Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), ANCC or AANPCP Certified, Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program, License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing
