Responsibilities
The position is based in the primary hospital service and involves working as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to transplant patients. Individuals will work in collaboration with Transplant Surgeons, Hepatologist and Gastroenterologists, Nephrologists, Fellows, Pharmacists, and Nursing staff.
- Preoperative and postoperative evaluations
- Managing hospital admissions, discharges, patient daily rounds, and postoperative management of patients on the Transplant Service
- Provision of care including, but not limited to, comprehensive physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including paracentesis and fibroscans as delegated by the supervising physician
- Education and counseling of patients and their families in the hospital setting

Qualifications
- Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program
- Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an FNP, ANP, or ACNP
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice
- Eligible for DEA registration
- BLS and ACLS certification required
