Registered Nurse - Abdominal Transplant

About the role

The Registered Nurse assesses, manages, and provides comprehensive nursing care during a patient's hospital stay, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough assessments, including admission, post-op, and discharge education needs
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans based on assessment data, diagnosis, lab results, and physician orders
• Implements and documents nursing interventions, administers medications, monitors patient responses, and coordinates referrals and education
• Recognizes clinical changes, communicates effectively, and ensures patient safety and comfort
• Provides specialized care for high-risk patients, including restraint and pain management, and assesses for abuse
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and professional standards; maintains current licensure and certifications
• Engages in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and performance improvement initiatives
• Delivers age-appropriate, cost-effective care, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and excellent communication

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid RN license in the applicable state
• BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing demands
• Commitment to quality care
