Nurse Practitioner - Neurology/Stroke

About the role
As a Nurse Practitioner, your strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care will support the delivery of high-quality neurological care. In this role, you will work with patients at Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital, providing hospital follow-up and ongoing post-stroke care.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Evaluate and manage patients following hospitalization for acute stroke and other neurological conditions; obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations; assess patient progress and develop and implement treatment plans
- Follow-Up Care: Provide post-stroke follow-up and ongoing management, monitor response to treatment, address new or recurring symptoms, and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and specialty care
- Treatment: Prescribe medications, provide patient education, and make appropriate referrals in collaboration with the neurology team
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, update patient charts, and complete required clinical documentation
Requirements
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Education
- MS: Nursing (Required)
Licenses / Certifications
- NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Physical Requirements
- M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay
$100,000.00 - $150,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
