About the Role
Join a well-established team of collaborative and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) at Legacy Health. This role provides the opportunity to practice across both Level III and Level IV NICU settings within the Legacy system. NNPs are integral to delivery attendance and the medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including daily rounding on NNP service patients. The role also includes telemedicine resuscitation coverage for Legacy Level I nursery sites and opportunities to contribute to non-clinical initiatives that support the highest standards of care for NICU patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care Management: Collaborate with Neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, pediatricians, and obstetricians in the NICU, Labor and Delivery, and Family Birthing centers to guide the care of neonates and infants. Practice autonomously, utilizing technical procedural skills and essential decision-making in patient care.
- Nursing Care Support: Provide ongoing support to nursing staff, both on the unit and through formal education opportunities. Lead patient care projects that support nursing care and medical management.
- Resuscitation: Attend deliveries in person at medical centers and via a telehealth platform at Level I nursery sites to ensure consistent, high-level care for newborns across the Legacy system.
- Discharge Planning: Work with the NICU team to provide an integrated family care experience, enabling families to care for high-risk infants in the NICU and beyond. Collaborate with neonatal RTs, dietary consultants, OT/PT, lactation specialists, and core nursing, medical, and leadership staff.
Qualifications
- Current applicable state RN license.
- National Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
- Current applicable state license as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NNP-PP).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an NICU Staff Nurse (Level III preferred).
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor Certification (or within 90 days of employment).
- Credentialed by Legacy Medical Staff for Category I and II privileges.
- Completion of ECMO certification course preferred.
Pay
USD $84.13 - USD $108.17 per hour.
