Nurse Practitioner II
About the role
The Columbia Department of Neurology Scarsdale Satellite seeks a Nurse Practitioner for their General Child Neurology Practice. The office provides clinical care for children with a range of neurological conditions with a focus on epilepsy.
Responsibilities
- Taking medical histories and performing physical examinations in the outpatient office as well as inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit
- Coinciding workup of patients which may include hospital admission
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Prescribing medications and managing patients by telephone as appropriate
- Serving selected patients in routine follow-up appointments, and for urgent same or next-day office visits under the supervision of an attending physician
- Coinciding multidisciplinary services; coordinating and facilitating patient education, and assisting with completion of forms/letters and responding to patient messages
- Aiding when clinical coverage is needed
Requirements
Requires a Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 5 years of experience.
New York State NP and RN license
Able to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements.
Qualifications
Experience in neurological patient care, pediatrics or family medicine and experience in an academic medical center is preferred.
