About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, in accordance with department protocols and regulatory standards. They collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure quality, continuity, and effective patient care, both in person and electronically.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze patient data to inform care plans.
- Provide patient education and involve families in care decisions.
- Advocate for patients' needs and ensure continuity of care.
- Review medical records and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Maintain communication across departments to coordinate care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and evaluate team effectiveness.
- Adhere to safety and legal standards in all practice areas.
- Participate in staff development, performance improvement, and research activities.
- Respond effectively in emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of Nurse Practitioner experience, with 2 years in emergency or urgent care.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing with specialization in Family Practice or Acute Care.
- Valid California RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Relevant life support certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS).
- National certification and credentialing within the healthcare system.
Additional Requirements
- Meet credentialing standards and obtain a Provider Transaction Account Number.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
