Nurse Practitioner, Float Pool

Position Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join the Float Pool, responsible for collaborative patient management across inpatient medical-surgical, critical care, or hybrid units.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive history and physical exams, interpreting findings
• Diagnosing and managing common clinical issues for assigned patient populations
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans collaboratively
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and therapies, communicating results to the team, patients, and families
• Participating in discharge planning and documentation, including orders and notes
• Engaging in daily rounds, interdisciplinary conferences, and teaching activities
• Providing health education and counseling to patients and families
• Performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Contributing to staff education and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing
• 1-3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Current Massachusetts NP license
• Certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner

Pay

• $10/hour specialty differential for float APRNs
• Sign-on bonus ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 based on experience

Schedule

• 36 hours per week with day/night rotations and every third weekend
• No holiday requirements
