Nurse Practitioner
About the Role
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing primary medical services at CHAS Health clinics in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations of the CHAS Health Board of Directors and administration.
Responsibilities
- Treat a mixed patient population across gender, age, ethnicity, and insurance status.
- Examine patients to determine general physical condition and perform physical examinations, minor procedures, and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on a patient’s condition.
- Analyze reports and findings and diagnose conditions.
- Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
- Order inoculations and vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment.
- Advise patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for disease prevention.
- Record and sign off on physical findings, formulate plans and prognoses, and document in the patient’s electronic chart in accordance with established standards.
- Report births, deaths, and outbreaks of contagious diseases to governmental authorities.
- Participate in provider staff meetings to develop problem‑solving techniques and acquire team‑building skills.
- Participate in peer reviews and clinic quality initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health mission and core values.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a master’s‑level, accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) program.
- Valid licensure in the state of practice.
- Secure narcotic prescription privileges.
- Board certified or board eligible.
Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to secure credentialing through identified agencies (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).
- BLS (CPR/AED) certification required.
- Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment.
Physical Demands
Providers must be able to move around the facility between one‑third and two‑thirds of the day, as well as sit at a workstation or in patient rooms. Using hands occurs over two‑thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one‑third. Communicating is required over two‑thirds of the day. Lifting up to 10 lb occurs about half the time; lifting up to and above 25 lb occurs only occasionally. Climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Compensation
Compensation range: $121,000.00 – $188,514.00. Includes an annual milestone bonus of $500 for each year worked, up to $5,000.
