Responsibilities

  • Affords comprehensive health assessments through health histories and physical examinations.
  • Initiates and orders therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examinations; prescribes medication regimens; interprets findings; and modifies care plans based on accepted standards and practice guidelines.
  • Provides health education and counseling in areas such as health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic illness management.
  • Documents findings and care plans in patients' medical records.
  • Collaborates with physicians according to established standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and fosters continuity of care.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and conferences to enhance care delivery.
  • Completes required evaluations and proctors as per Medical Staff and hospital policies.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development, including self-directed learning, literature review, and participation in research studies.
  • Serves as a resource for other healthcare professionals and participates in peer review activities.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the Department of Nursing and the Mount Sinai Health System.
  • Treats colleagues, patients, and families with respect and dignity.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses and certifications.
  • Current board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certificates required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Previous progressive experience relevant to the area of clinical practice preferred.
  • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude.
  • Excellent technical and patient care skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and hands-on experience.
  • Models a customer service focus and respects patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
  • Appointment to the Medical Center Allied Health Personnel Staff.

Compensation

The salary range for the role is $87,692 - $131,538 annually. Actual salaries depend on various factors including experience, education, and operational needs. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
