Job Summary
The Nurse Practice Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical, and fiscal oversight of assigned patient care areas to ensure the delivery of high-quality, individualized patient care aligned with Medical Center standards and philosophies. This role oversees daily staffing, planning, organization, direction, and coordination of unit operations and clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Budget preparation and fiscal management
- Participation in research initiatives

Qualifications
- A Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPRA
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), plus either a completed Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field, or active enrollment in a Master’s program with completion required within three (3) years of hire.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), combined with a completed Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN or MS), is accepted.
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing management experience required.
- Recent Clinical Operations experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Metes and meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area.
- Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
- Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
