Nurse Paralegal

About the role

The Fort Lauderdale, FL office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Nurse Paralegal with litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate standards of care, assess damages and causation issues, analyze medical records, and support case strategy, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Work for a minimum of 4 attorneys, calendaring, document management including but not limited to review, creation, and organization
• Compile information for discovery responses, interrogatories, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation

Requirements

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred
• At least 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience; 10 years acute care experience preferred
• Prior Experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant, Nurse Paralegal, or in medical-legal litigation support preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and legal case management/e-discovery platforms
• Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills
• Able to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
• Able to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
• This position has an annual billable requirement of 1,600 hours
