About the role
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Professional Nurse to lead the daily operations of the Sub-Regional Clinic. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, knowledge of nursing practice, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate coordinated patient flow and care through the clinic and other providers
- Affirm current and accurate medical records
- Optimize reimbursement for clinic services
- Furnish documentation needed by YKHC to manage the clinic
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the clinical practice, functions, and management of the Subregional clinic
- Manage the fiscal, material, and human resources of the department
- Maintain interdepartmental communication
- Facilitate performance improvement through open communication with department staff
- Participate in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures
- Work closely with other members of the Subregional Clinics Management Team to improve access to care and Health Indicators
- Cooperate with healthcare professionals in all departments to provide quality and cost-effective care
- Support the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation's Mission Statement
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution. BSN, MSN, or Master’s degree in a health care related field preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of progressive nursing management experience with three years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- License, Certification, Registration: Licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN), and current BLS.
Skills
- Knowledge of regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations
- Cognitive and technical knowledge related to the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care
- Flexibility with work schedule and ability for independent actions within prescribed limits
- Knowledge of budgets, reimbursements, coding, claims processing, and fiscal management
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work in a patient care setting
- Knowledge of psychiatric patients (Title 47)
- Knowledge of coding and billing for Title 47 patients
- Knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention tactics
