Nurse Manager RN Emergency Room

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a Nurse Manager RN for the Emergency Room to join a team of dedicated managers who provide unwavering care and support.

About the Role

The Nursing Manager is a registered nurse with 24/7 responsibility for all operational aspects of their unit. This flexible position accommodates day and night obligations, requiring the ability to manage stress, make competent decisions, and use healthy coping skills. Responsibilities include human resource management, financial and clinical oversight, and professional leadership. The Nursing Manager establishes departmental goals aligned with Kingwood Medical Center’s objectives, integrating continuous quality improvement (CQI) into all operations. They also provide relief staffing and apply knowledge of growth and development principles to meet patient and family needs across the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Five (5) years of recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department
• Three (3) years of progressive nursing management experience preferred
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment)
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (must be obtained within 60 days of employment)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment)
