About the Role

The Nurse Manager is the designated leader responsible for the provision of high-quality nursing care that is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. This role includes 24/7 accountability for the assigned unit(s), daily operations, interprofessional collaboration, execution of policies and procedures, financial management, development of strategic projects, and support of growth for both patient and staff experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, goals, and objectives as they relate to patient care, quality, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and ensures all team members are knowledgeable in emergency/disaster response policies and procedures, including unit-specific response plans.
  • Monitors nursing standards of practice, policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory agencies.
  • Develops, plans, evaluates, and consistently monitors budgetary and financial priorities, including payroll, scheduling, productivity, variance analysis, and equipment/supply management.
  • Promotes cost-effective use of organizational resources while managing acuity workload, volume, and variable staffing plans to support financial objectives and targets.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills by establishing mutually supportive partnerships, displaying effective communication, coaching, and mentoring of team members.
  • Supervises, plans, evaluates, and monitors educational programs and evidence-based practice in collaboration with the Department of Education.
  • Supports the Magnet Program Director and Magnet program by ensuring a shared governance model, data collection, writing of exemplars, and coordination of documentation.
  • Prioritizes organizational goals and incorporates them into standard work, including leading or participating in committee work with clear performance improvement goals.
  • Professionally reviews complaints or opportunities for improvement with timely follow-up, including service recovery efforts with patients, families, administration, or regulatory agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • National Certification in area of specialty (preferred when eligible).
  • Three (3) years' progressive leadership experience.

Pay

Minimum base pay of $148,262.40 annually. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Eligible positions may also include performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
