Responsibilities

  • Communication: Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills in reports, correspondence, and presentations. Ensure staff are informed of Medical Center and departmental priorities. Communicate vision statement and goals, demonstrating commitment to their achievement.
  • Professional Development: Participate in conferences, workshops, and other activities to maintain licensure and remain current with advances in the field.
  • Staff Development: Ensure staff receive mandated in-service training in Safety, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Customer Service, Infection Control, and other applicable areas.
  • Problem Solving: Make recommendations and decisions reflecting strong analytical skills, focusing on quality, cost containment, and impact on other departments.
  • Customer Service Management: Incorporate the Medical Center’s Customer Service goals into departmental policies and systems. Review service delivery processes to exceed customer expectations and serve as a role model for staff and peers.
  • Project Management: Participate in multidisciplinary task forces, committees, and projects, demonstrating teamwork and collaboration. Lead project teams to bring together diverse views and skills for timely completion of objectives.
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical supervision, in-service training, and maintenance of clinical standards. May lead hospital-wide clinically oriented committees.
  • CCIS Program Director Responsibilities:
    • Children’s Interagency Coordinating Council (CIACC) Summary of Activity Reporting.
    • CCIS unit State Monthly Reporting.
    • Knowledge of CCIS Redesignation Survey and ability to gather data and meet with regulatory bodies.
    • Collaborate with other CCIS units, community agencies, and educational systems to coordinate care.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist management in developing cost accounting methodology to determine costs of nursing care and other direct costs for planning and decision-making.
    • Serve as a resource to staff in clinical and management matters.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric clinical experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, state, and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
  • Strong clinical nursing skills and expertise.
  • Good organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English as required by the position.

Job Setting/Physical Demands

  • Work in nursing offices and patient care areas with contact with staff, patients, and families.
  • Somewhat sedentary role, but mobility is required.
  • May handle emergencies or crisis situations.
  • May lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients.
  • Protective clothing may be required, including mask or face shield, gloves, impermeable gown, and particulate filter respirator.

Pay

$120,000–$143,000/year
