About the Role
The Oaks Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Nurse Manager to oversee and coordinate the delivery of healthcare services to our residents. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a passion for working with seniors in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead nursing and caregiving staff, ensuring high-quality care in accordance with state regulations and company policies
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Manage medication administration, documentation, and resident medical records
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare standards, licensing, and safety regulations
- Conduct regular staff training and performance evaluations
- Participate in the development and monitoring of care plans and risk assessments
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide leadership during crisis situations
- Monitor infection control practices and ensure best practices are followed
- Participate in resident admissions and discharges, including initial and ongoing assessments
- Maintain effective communication with residents and families regarding care needs and updates
- Support a culture of respect, dignity, and resident-centered care
Requirements
- Current and active LPN license in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role in senior care or assisted living
- Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of assisted living regulations and standards
- CPR/First Aid certification required
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed
