About the role

At Fast Pace Urgent Care, Nurses provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Nurse position ensures effective customer service for all internal and external customers using excellent, in-depth knowledge and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist and Scribe position as detailed in their respective job descriptions.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building and maintaining confidence and credibility.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Core Values of the Company: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA and health information management guidelines.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, giving injections, and observing patient conditions.
  • Chart and report changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take necessary action.
  • Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and forward them as appropriate.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Welcome new employees, facilitate introductions, provide clinic tours, and overview clinic processes.
  • Actively assist new employees with learning activities and required training, including job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching.
  • Perform the physical, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified in the physical demands.
  • Comply with Company standards of operations and Core Values.
  • Promote and maintain a respectful culture of confidentiality for employees, employers, and business information.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the office, including taking out garbage, organizing spaces, and ensuring a professional appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients, obtaining and recording demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes.
  • Work as part of the team by answering telephones, taking messages, and returning voicemails in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Current CPR license.
  • Experience levels vary by position tier:
    • Level 1: At least 1 year of experience as a certified LPN preferred in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
    • Level 2: Certified LPN with 3 years’ experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience, or 4 years’ experience in a relevant role. Alternatively, Certified RN with 1 year of experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience, or 2 years’ experience as a Nurse.
    • Level 3: Certified LPN with 5 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience, or 6 years’ experience in a relevant role. Alternatively, Certified RN with 3 years’ experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience, or 4 years’ experience as a Nurse.
    • Level 4: Certified RN with at least 10 years as a Nurse and 1 year of Fast Pace experience.
    • Level 5: Certified RN with at least 15 years as a Nurse and 2 years of Fast Pace experience.
    • Level 6: Certified LPN with 5 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience, or 6 years’ experience in a relevant role. Alternatively, Certified RN with 3 years’ experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience, or 4 years’ experience as a Nurse.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with an active, verifiable license in good standing.
  • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable in your state.
