Nurse House Supervisor
About the role
As the Nursing Administrative Supervisor at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, you will function as the administrative resource and expert clinician, providing operational and administrative oversight to all departments during off hours and weekends. This role involves staffing, patient care oversight, emergency direction, and handling complaints appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinate issues to the appropriate level for problem-solving.
- Supervise nursing care and ascertain the condition of patients by rounding on all nursing units.
- Communicate with nursing Managers/Directors concerning issues on individual units and with the Administrator on Call regarding situations of critical importance.
- Work collaboratively with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and with Directors/Managers for proper patient placement on units.
- Facilitate the flow of clinical information for the transfer/admission of patients from clinical settings, hospitals, emergency departments, and other external locations.
- Assist with managing patient flow to eliminate delays and decrease potential issues.
- Serve as a resource for staff and providers for all operational needs.
- Maintain responsibility for the oversight of staffing for the hospital during overnight hours.
- Serve as liaison for per diem agency staffing.
- Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or a compact state.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 5 years of clinical experience required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
