Nurse for 1:1 Medically Complex Student

Long-term substitute school nurse position providing dedicated, daily medical care to an individual medically complex student, ensuring specific health needs are met to allow for educational participation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and perform specialized health procedures (e.g., G-tube feeding, suctioning).
• Manage chronic conditions and document care in compliance with the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Implement IEP health plans, which may include seizure management, catheterization, and feeding.
• Ensure the maintenance of accurate health records for the student.
• Implement emergency care plans in the event of an accident or health event.
• Respect the dignity, confidentiality, and rights of all students and staff; uphold regulations and laws related to confidentiality, reporting of child abuse and neglect, and other health-related requirements.
• Maintain professional competencies through in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth programs.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Health Coordinator, Building Principal, and other Central Office administrators.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited-licensed nurse program.
• Valid nursing license in the State of Missouri.
• Maintain record of annual continuing education.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse.
• Pediatric or special needs experience.

Pay

• RN: Starting at $28.10/hr (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience).
• LPN: $19.16/hr (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience).

Schedule

Potential of 186.5 days dependent on student attendance; 8.0 hours per day. Does not include a 30-minute lunch.
