About the role
A Nurse Extern – Neurology PRN provides hands-on patient care and supports the nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, comfort, and hygiene.
- Perform basic nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Accurately document care and communicate updates to the nursing team.
- Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control protocols.
- Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisors to develop career skills.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program in good standing.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of start.
