A Nurse Extern provides hands-on patient care and supports nursing activities within a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor vital signs
- Support patient mobility
- Perform basic nursing procedures (e.g., wound care, specimen collection)
- Document care accurately
- Communicate updates to the nursing team
- Educate patients and families
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
- Collaborate with supervisors for professional growth
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment
