About the Role
A Nurse Extern in Medical Cardiology Stepdown provides hands-on patient care and supports nursing team activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor vital signs
- Support patient mobility
- Perform basic nursing procedures (wound care, catheter care, specimen collection)
- Document care accurately
- Communicate updates to the nursing team
- Educate patients and families
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Engage in learning opportunities to enhance skills
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment
