NURSE CONSULTANT III (SPECIALIST)
About the role
The Nurse Consultant III (NC III) performs monitoring, training, and complex nursing consultation related to Adult Residential Facilities for Persons with Special Health Care Needs (ARFPSHN), Group Homes for Children with Special Health Care Needs (GHCSHN), and other residential programs. The NC III also reviews program plans for small residential facilities ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and provides quality assurance and standards of clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing monitoring of ARFPSHN, GHCSHN, and other residential programs.
- Provide complex nursing consultation and training to Department of Developmental Services (DDS) staff, residential service providers, regional center staff, and physicians related to consumer health care in the community.
- Review program plans for small residential facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide quality assurance and standards of clinical practice related to health services for persons with developmental disabilities.
- May approve specialized procedures for residential facilities based on clinical expertise.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with experience in developmental disabilities or similar field.
- Experience in consultation, training, and technical assistance.
- Experience reviewing program plans for residential facilities and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Experience providing quality assurance and standards of clinical practice.
