Responsibilities

  • Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics
  • Participates in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completes all required education
  • Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physicians as needed; performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training
  • Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care
  • Learns and upgrades skills, utilizing knowledge to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel
  • Participates in quality and performance improvement activities, accurately documenting and monitoring activities as needed
  • Produces accurately written, promptly completed medical records based on scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions
  • Affirms and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes
  • Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population
  • Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect
  • Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs
  • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care
  • Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation
  • Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy
  • Knowledge of Vascular anatomy
  • Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and physiology
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
  • Knowledge of advanced levels of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation (preferred)
  • Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of peripheral interventional procedures (preferred)

Qualifications

  • Associate's of Nursing
  • Bachelor's of Nursing (preferred)

Skills

  • Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation
