About the role

The Nurse Clinician is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating complex patients, providing direction and education to the healthcare team, and managing resources to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats complex patients
• Provides direction and education to the healthcare team

• Develops, implements, and evaluates programs in the assigned area
• Empowers staff through professional development
• Manages human, fiscal, and other resources to ensure quality programs/processes/services

Requirements

• Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For Hire: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
• Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For Continued Employment: Current RN licensure in Virginia
• Experience: 5 years nursing experience required, minimum of one year in the position's specialty patient population or practice setting, experience in staff education and professional development preferred
• Education/training: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, enrollment in a Master’s degree program within 36 months of hire

Special Considerations

• Preference given to applicants enrolled in Baccalaureate to Doctoral programs who may require longer than 36 months to complete the terminal degree

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing if the master’s degree is not in Nursing
