Nurse Clinician - General Internal Medicine Full time Days

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions.
• Provide pre-attending care for patients, including comprehensive assessments and documentation.
• Perform routine nursing duties, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and measurement of vital signs.
• Demonstrate clinical competency when performing complex specialty-related procedures.
• Interpret and define abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, and take appropriate remedial action.
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and service standards.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations as appropriate and in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants according to Illinois law and organizational protocols.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring patients understand educational materials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment.
• Certification in Basic CPR.
• 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
