Nurse Clinician - Internal Medicine Full time Days

About the role

The Nurse Clinician works in a multidisciplinary environment, requiring exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to assess and manage patient care independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Provide pre-attending care, perform comprehensive assessments, and document findings in the patient’s medical record.
• Independently perform routine nursing duties, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and vital sign measurements.
• Interpret test results and take appropriate remedial actions, documenting all interventions in the patient’s medical record.
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments, triage and prioritize incoming calls, and manage urgent/emergent medical situations.
• Assist staff and physicians with problem-solving and decision-making, delegate tasks according to Illinois law and organizational protocols, and initiate patient education.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment
• Certification in Basic CPR
• 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
