Nurse Anesthesiology College Professor
for section headings: e.g., About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We should not repeat job title as heading. So we will not have heading for "College Professor, Nurse Anesthesiology". Instead we can embed info in About the role paragraph.
We need to preserve all substantive info; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include all details: location, closing date, department contact, internal/external, advertising summary, position details (college/division, department, location, target salary, FTE, FLSA status, bargaining unit note, contingent upon funding, standard work schedule). Also duties list. Qualifications required. Preferred qualifications (maybe none but we have some lines). Working conditions. Recruitment summary. Special instructions to applicants.
We need to decide which sections to use.
Possible sections:
- About the role (could include advertising summary, position title, college/department, location, FTE, etc.)
- Responsibilities (duties list)
- Requirements (qualifications required)
- Preferred Qualifications (maybe as part of Requirements or separate)
- Pay (target hourly/salary rate)
- Schedule (standard work schedule)
- Working Conditions (maybe as part of Requirements or separate)
- Recruitment Summary (maybe as About the role or separate)
- Special Instructions (maybe as a note)
But we must prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we can combine some.
We need to use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. So duties list should be
- . Qualifications required list also
- . Preferred qualifications maybe also list.
We need to use
for prose.
We must not include boilerplate: EEO, accommodation request, etc.
We must not include navigation, cookie, legal, duplicated lines.
We must not include Job ID/requisition numbers as headings; we can drop them.
We must not include "Closing at: Oct 18 2026 - 23:55 MDT" maybe as part of About the role paragraph.
We must not include "Department Contact:" maybe as part of About the role.
We need to preserve all substantive info; so we need to include department contact info somewhere.
Let's craft.
Structure:
About the role
The School of Nursing is seeking a College Professor, Nurse Anesthesiology (part‑time, 0.50 FTE) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The position reports to the Department of Nursing within the College of Health, Education & Social Transformation. Application closes Oct 18, 2026 at 23:55 MDT. For questions contact Ana Chavez‑McPherson at (575) 646‑3813 or ana07@nmsu.edu. This is an external search open to all applicants.
That includes location, FTE, college, department, closing date, contact, internal/external.
We could also include Target Hourly/Salary Rate: 55,000 maybe in Pay section.
Pay
The target salary for this position is $55,000 (annual).
But we need to check if it's hourly or salary; posting says Target Hourly/Salary Rate: 55,000. Likely annual salary. We'll state as such.
Schedule
Standard work schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Now Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Plans, designs, and provides didactic, clinical and/or laboratory instruction in the nurse anesthesiology specialty track in a manner that reflects an understanding of the program’s objectives and curriculum.
- Evaluates student achievement of curricular and course objectives and learning outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice.
- Contributes to program, department, and college activities and initiatives including participating in program and department faculty meetings and serving on committees and participating in university functions.
- Participates in School of Nursing events (i.e., commencement, induction ceremonies, open houses, career days, recruitment activities, fundraising events, etc.).
- Serves on departmental, college and/or university committees.
- Participates in scholarship/research, professional practice, service and outreach as assigned.
- Coordinates clinical training at hospitals and surgical centers.
- Assists in the process of program accreditation for the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) including evaluating and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- Participates in COA and DNP CCNE program accreditation visits.
- Supports the director and assistant director in curriculum development, execution, evaluation, and revision for continued improvement to assure rigor and quality of learning experiences.
- Assists in the development, evaluation, and revision of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies, assuring alignment with institutional policies.
- Advises and counsels DNP nurse anesthesiology students.
- Represents the school and university to prospective students, professional organizations, potential future employers for students, and any other relevant constituencies.
Now Requirements (qualifications required):
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia/anesthesiology program associated with a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
- Doctoral degree (e.g., Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree or PhD in nursing or related field) from an institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred.
- Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification eligible for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Unencumbered license as a registered nurse and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and eligible for registered nurse and advanced practice nurse prescriber licensure in the state of New Mexico.
- At least three years of clinical experience as a practicing CRNA.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, collaborative, team building, and communication skills (written and oral).
Now Preferred Qualifications (maybe we have some lines: "Equivalent Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Special Certification/Licensure Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment:" Actually the text: "Equivalent Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Special Certification/Licensure Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required. Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk."
So there is a Preferred Qualifications section that seems empty? It says "Equivalent Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:" then directly "Special Certification/Licensure". No actual preferred qualifications listed. Then they go into Working Conditions. So we might not have any preferred qualifications to list. We could skip Preferred Qualifications section because no specific content.
We could include Working Conditions as part of Requirements or separate section. Since we have a section for Working Conditions maybe we can include under Requirements or as its own section "Working Conditions". The instruction says use headings like Benefits, Pay, Schedule etc. Not explicitly Working Conditions but we could still use a heading if we have content. However they said "Use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." That list is examples, not exhaustive. We could still add a heading for Working Conditions if we want. But better to keep few sections. Could incorporate Working Conditions into Requirements or a separate short paragraph.
We also have Recruitment Summary: description of NMSU. Could incorporate into About the role or separate section "About the University". But we already have About the role; we could add a paragraph about NMSU there.
We also have Special Instructions to Applicants: electronic application is official document, required documents must be attached. Could include as a note under About the role or separate section "Application Instructions". But we are told to remove application instructions? Actually the instruction says: "Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions." So we should remove application instructions. So we should not include Special Instructions to Applicants. So we drop that.
We also need to remove EEO statement and accommodation request.
Thus final HTML includes sections: About the role (with location, college, department, FTE, closing date, contact, internal/external, recruitment summary maybe), Pay, Schedule, Responsibilities, Requirements (including qualifications and maybe working conditions). We could also include a brief Working Conditions paragraph inside Requirements or as a separate small section.
Let's craft About the role to include recruitment summary.
Recruitment Summary paragraph: "We are New Mexico’s land-grant institution and a comprehensive research university dedicated to teaching, research public service and outreach at all levels. NMSU is a welcoming community of talented faculty, staff and students who are working together to make a difference. We are a NASA Space Grant
- . Qualifications required list also
- . Preferred qualifications maybe also list.
