Key responsibilities

• Assist the nursing staff in providing excellent, effective and safe patient care
• Provide patient personal care, bathing, and personal hygiene
• Participate in admission, dismissal and the transfer process
• Contribute to the permanent documentation of patient data
• Complete the essential function of constant observer or telesitter where applicable, including monitoring the patient at bedside and/or remotely via audio/visual technology to promote patient safety while maintaining patient privacy and dignity
• Complete patient cares and documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to policies, procedures and regulations
• Demonstrate the desire to grow as an employee, team and facility
• Positively support and contribute to departmental development as evidenced by participating in meetings and training
• As a member of the multidisciplinary team, contribute valuable input to the patient's care planning process
• Assess and provide direct resident care needs to residents with supervised personal/rehabilitative cares as outlined in their individualized care plan to assist with maintaining or improving functional abilities, comfort, independence and safety
• Report any safety concerns, abnormal parameters as defined for the patient population, or health concerns of the patient to the nurse
• Encourage the patient to participate in their own activities of daily living and other aspects of the plan of care as appropriate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies preferred
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from South Dakota Board of Nursing preferred
• 1+ years of related experience preferred

Schedule

• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36
• Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department

Pay

• Nurse Aide - Acute: $18.20 - $20.92 per hour
• Certified Nurse Aide - Acute: $18.99 - $21.83 per hour
• Starting pay rate range determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant
