Nursing on the 32-bed couplet care Mother-Baby Unit at Beaumont, Dearborn offers a fast-paced, challenging career. With an average of 4,300 deliveries a year, the unit provides compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. You will work with a professional, multidisciplinary team including nurses, lactation consultants, educators, social workers, and other dedicated personnel.

Scope of Work
The Registered Nurse (RN), under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging care. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures, recognizing the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on outcomes. The RN partners with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the care plan, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning in the health record.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing Required
- Bachelor’s in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate or nurse with less than one (1) year of experience
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required or, if a new graduate, within 60 days of hire
- AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
- Highly preferred: RN experience in Mother Baby, Labor & Delivery (L&D), or Gynecology. May consider Graduate Nurses (GN) with Mother-Baby Nurse Tech unit experience

- Weekend Frequency: Every other weekend
