Supervises, leads, and coordinates nursing activities and personnel. Evaluates nursing operations to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Works closely with the Medical Director for all aspects of nursing and medical care of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing operations to uphold established mission, vision, core values, and strategic plan.
  • Provides direct supervision and leadership to nursing staff.
  • Develops training materials for nursing staff, including training videos and materials.
  • Performs MAR audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Reviews medication errors to provide educational opportunities to staff.
  • Participates in the utilization review process and communicates with the nursing team on related patient authorizations.
  • Audits and ensures med rooms comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Consults with physicians, therapists, case managers, leadership, and others as needed.
  • Performs chart audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Onboards new employees in the nursing department, validates competencies, and ensures continuous training.
  • Participates in and follows up on committee tasks.
  • Monitors census within the facility and ensures appropriate nursing staffing in accordance with regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians regarding orders, care plans, medications, and provides guidance to nursing staff.
  • Covers shifts when needed to ensure appropriate nursing coverage.
  • Provides on-call support and responds to emergencies 24-7.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program with current licensure from an appropriate state licensing board.
  • RN preferred; LVN/LPN required. In programs employing RNs, RN licensure is required. In the Eating Division, this position requires an RN.
  • Preferred: Experience as a staff nurse, preferably in chemical dependency, eating disorders, and/or behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, research processes, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to assess clinical care requirements based on nursing principles and scope of practice.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of substance use disorders, addiction, eating disorders, and behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with behavior change, recovery models, and treatment methods.
  • Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity.

Pay

$107,000 - $115,000 annually

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

Work Location: Onsite - Thousand Oaks, CA

Employment Status: Temporary
