Nupe Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Nupe Interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols
• Speak clearly in both Nupe and English, using proper pronunciation and enunciation
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol
• Understand and adhere to industry-specific terminology and procedures
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment
• Handle emotionally and/or stressful calls with professionalism

Requirements

• Fluency in Nupe and English with cultural competency
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to remain detached and neutral during sensitive calls
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
• Able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred

Qualifications

• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship
• Experience with LLS technology and software
• Access to a dedicated personal device for business purposes
• High-speed internet connection meeting specified requirements
• Physical ability to operate a keyboard and mouse
• Quiet workspace free from background noise or distraction

The pay rate is $0.75 - $0.90 per minute.
