About the role

Position Overview The DNFSB and Nuclear Safety Specialist will provide The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO), Assistant Manager for Safety and Quality (AMSQ), and Nuclear Safety Division (NSD), with programmatic, logistical, coordination, and analytical support for HFO interactions with the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB), DOE Headquarters (DOE-HQ), and other DOE oversight stakeholders following areas:

Responsibilities

• Facilitate interactions and support coordination among HFO, DOE-HQ, and other DOE elements on matters involving DNFSB and other oversight stakeholders to ensure interactions, deliverables, and follow-up actions are timely, accurate, and properly documented.
• Monitor oversight-related activities and advise NSD of significant issues, emerging concerns, potential sensitivities, and matters that may affect HFO programs, commitments, or stakeholder interests.
• Support NSD in its role as HFO’s point of contact with DNFSB, DOE-HQ, and other DOE oversight stakeholders, including resident inspectors, site representatives, and visiting staff.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plans, processes, tracking tools, and procedures used to manage HFO’s interface with DNFSB, DOE-HQ, and other DOE oversight stakeholders.
