Fugro’s QA Nuclear Manager ensures quality assurance programs for nuclear projects and services meet ASME NQA-1, client-specific, and regulatory requirements. This role acts as the Nuclear Quality Subject Matter Expert, providing oversight of project activities, engineering deliverables, supplier quality, audits, corrective actions, and records management.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, prioritizing Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and environmental protection.
- Maintain and oversee the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in compliance with ASME NQA-1 and client-specific requirements.
- Ensure project and operational activities align with approved procedures, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Provide independent quality oversight of engineering, consulting, field, and supplier activities for nuclear projects.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Review project quality plans, procedures, engineering deliverables, procurement documents, and records for NQA-1 compliance.
- Ensure proper implementation of document control, records retention, nonconformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
- Support supplier qualification, oversight, and procurement quality activities.
- Represent the Nuclear quality function in client, project, and internal meetings.
- Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits, supplier audits, surveillances, and assessments per NQA-1 requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial nuclear power, DOE nuclear, nuclear engineering, or related regulated industries.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience implementing, managing, auditing, or overseeing Nuclear Quality Assurance programs compliant with ASME NQA-1.
- NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent nuclear audit qualification preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management standards.
- Demonstrated experience conducting quality audits, supplier assessments, corrective action investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Experience supporting engineering, design, procurement, construction, testing, or consulting activities under NQA-1 quality requirements.
- Thorough understanding of nuclear quality documentation, records management, configuration management, and quality program implementation.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in various software applications.
- Valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Possesses or can obtain a valid passport; possible international travel/assignments may be required.
