Overview

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking an employee to work on-site with their client. This Nuclear Project Coordinator coordinates project teams of one to five members, including planning, scheduling, and control of project and program activities. The role serves as a specialist for assigned projects, maintaining detailed knowledge of all project aspects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance as assigned.
  • Provide oversight of staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring to ensure work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget. This includes all aspects of project implementation, including budget, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, work prioritization, resource loading, and work execution, including resolution of schedule delays and conflicts.
  • Develop budgets, including tracking cost versus budget for assigned projects.
  • Assure proper progress and focus through frequent interfacing with the client, engineers, related parties, and management.
  • Develop and manage contracts and interface with vendors.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
  • Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies associated with assigned projects.
  • Support effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Support the following: outage support, including OCC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from accredited college or university AND 1 year of experience in a technical field; OR
  • Associate degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related technical curriculum from accredited college or university AND 3 years of experience in a technical field; OR
  • High school diploma/GED AND 5 years of experience in a technical field
  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience required
  • Project Management Certification desired
  • Construction Management Certification desired
  • Mechanical background highly preferred.
  • Familiar with error reduction and human performance improvement methods; cost-effective work execution methodologies; project management; on-line work management; refueling and forced outage activities; engineering principles; and standard project management techniques
  • Basic project management techniques
  • Basic core values as related to human performance, cost-effective work execution
  • Basic use of computer software tools (MS Office)
