Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nuclear Medicine Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides. Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.
To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential. Demonstrates proficiency in serving as the resource person in the absence of the lead tech. Performs exams based on physician order, clinical indication, patient anatomy and body habitus. Interacts with floors related to pending exams, providing direction for patient prep. Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifier and gel in/gel out. Produces high quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation. Accurately, thoroughly and timely completes hospital/department forms per protocol i.e. incident reports, side/site forms, maintenance request forms etc. Completes exam(s) in Radnet, enters notes or other required documentation into Radnet, DR or other computer systems. Documents patient doses as required by ARRA. Coordinates and sets cases up for performance of cardiac exams within a small window of time. Performs exams based on protocol and physician direction. Provides assistance to NM physician and cardiologist in the performance of invasive procedures as well as cardiac stress exams.
Job Requirements
- Required:
- Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program approved by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- 1 year experience as a Nuclear Med Tech in a clinical setting
- Nuclear Medical Technologist: AZ Registered Technologist
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certified
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- American Health Association Basic Life Support - CPR
