About the role

Assist engineers and other higher classified personnel in technical functions related to the generation, assemblage, and verification of nuclear analysis information. This position supports engineering work requiring a high degree of manipulative or other special skills acquired through experience, coupled with technical training and application of knowledge in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the analysis, summarization, and preparation of data into written and/or graphic form requiring calculations involving the use of basic algebraic formulae and trigonometric functions.
• Review computer program input utilizing computer input sheets or specific check programs.
• Assist in the preparation of computer input alterations and modifications based on information derived from initial raw data analysis.
• Assist in the modification of existing non-complex computer programs.
• Catalog and maintain computer input and output files, calculation notes, and associated records.
• Run data analysis and/or computer plotting programs utilizing existing computer systems.
• Support various engineering activities in the assigned functional group to learn new skills and grow in knowledge of engineering processes.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in a technical curriculum with at least 2 courses in Math and 2 courses in Physics.
• OR 60 college credits in an Engineering curriculum with at least 2 courses in Math and 2 courses in Physics.

No amount of experience will substitute for the required education; however, recognized technical programs (e.g., Naval Nuclear or other military programs) may substitute for the required formal education.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $41,070 to $67,661 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
