About the role

We are seeking a Regional Manager, Volunteer Development Team, to join our Operation Christmas Child team. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen high-impact Volunteer Area Teams by recruiting and equipping mature, mission-minded leaders spiritually, providing intentional coaching, and fostering healthy collaboration.
  • Ensure volunteers represent the ministry with excellence among churches, donors, and community partners while consistently applying High Impact principles.
  • Provide strategic leadership to a year-round volunteer network, aligning Area Teams with national and regional vision and guiding them toward thriving team health.
  • Drive year-over-year growth in shoebox collections, financial contributions, church and group engagement, year-round service, The Greatest Journey awareness, and the logistics network, contributing to ministry impact of up to $10 million annually.
  • Develop and expand a ministry-aligned logistics network by partnering with like-minded churches to serve as Drop-off Locations. Ensure these sites reflect organizational values, provide an excellent donor experience during National Collection Week, and effectively support the collection and transportation of shoebox gifts and other gift-in-kind donations.
  • Provide strategic vision and leadership for regional ministry growth by contributing to strategic planning, leading local vision casting and Ministry Plan development, and identifying high-potential opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Area Teams to execute speaker tours, Project Leader Workshops, recruitment initiatives, and organization-sponsored events while representing the ministry through local media and promotional channels.
  • Lead Operations Center ministry during shoebox processing season, including temporary relocation as needed, providing day-to-day leadership to management and seasonal staff. Promote operational excellence while cultivating a Christ-centered, meaningful volunteer experience and mobilizing both short-term and year-round volunteers to serve.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with five to seven years of experience leading volunteers and teams toward goals and expectations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and lead volunteer teams to implement programs and achieve ministry goals from a Biblical perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the local church and building meaningful relationships with pastors, ministry leaders, and church members.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the initiative, strategic thinking, and follow-through needed to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player who genuinely celebrates the success of others and demonstrates an optimistic, positive attitude that inspires and influences those around them.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.

Schedule

Full-time position requiring travel for 75 days internationally/domestically per year.
